Picasso Calla lilies painted brush strokes of Indigo through a bouquet clutched by this blushing bride. Rick and Karen celebrated their love on the cliffs of Half Moon Bay at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. A foggy February day made for a cozy setting. Kristian Iskandar, KI Photography (http://www.kiphotography.com/) captured my flowers beautifully. The furry grey of Dusty Miller and the deep purple of the Black and Picasso Calla lilies popped against stark white. The black Eucalyptus gave it a feathery look. It gives it an elegant flair, I think.
Handsome men in black adorned single Black Calla lily boutonnieres. These were garnished with a sprig of evergreen and a young blackberry. Looking very dapper, guys. Bravo.
Inside I used White Hydrangeas and Blush Roses for the center pieces. Purple Anemones are awesome for creating texture and vibrant color. I reintroduced the blackberries and the Eucalyptus to tie the theme together.
Moral of the story? Simplicity in dark and white creates elegance for a seaside soirée. Sometimes being understated makes your creativity stand out. Thanks so much, Rick and Karen, for letting me help to make your dream day come to life.
